Bomb Threat reported at this Delhi School!
NEW DELHI: The Lal Bahadur Shastri School, RK Puram in Delhi reported a bomb threat via email, according to the police.
The school administration alerted the authorities about the bomb threat email following which the police arrived at the school premises.
After conducting an inquiry, it was determined that the school’s administration had received the bomb alert email on Wednesday but had likely only checked it on Thursday, a police officer said.
Around 8am, bomb squad personnel thoroughly searched the school premises. However, no improvised explosive device (IED) or bomb was discovered, the officer said.
The school had a scheduled examination for 400 students on Thursday, which proceeded without any issues following the completion of the bomb squad’s search, the officer added.
It’s worth noting that in May, a similar hoax email regarding a bomb threat was received by the Delhi Public School located on Mathura Road. Additionally, the Indian School in Sadiq Nagar had experienced two bomb threats, one over the phone in November 2022 and the last one via email on April 12. In all these cases, subsequent investigations revealed that these threats were indeed hoaxes.
