“Delhi Schools Shut Down Until Sunday”
New Delhi: In response to the rising water level of the Yamuna River, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities in Delhi until Sunday, July 16. Government offices, excluding those providing essential services, will also be operating from home during this period.
The decision was made after a meeting between the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to address the flood-like situation in the city. The water level of the Yamuna River has reached 208.65 meters, raising concerns about safety.
Chief Minister Kejriwal stated, “Schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed until Sunday. Government offices, except those offering essential services, will have employees working from home. Private offices are also advised to do the same.”
These measures aim to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff members, while government offices continue to provide essential services remotely. Private offices are encouraged to follow suit.
