The Mann School inaugurates installation of the automatic weather station
New Delhi: On Friday, 11th December 2020, The Mann School inaugurated the installation of an automatic weather station in their premises. Dr Mukesh Mishra, professor at JNU and independent Director at the Central Ministry of new and renewable energy, India, was the Chief Guest at the inauguration.
This is part of a program they are implementing in their school called ‘CLASS’ expanding to Climate Learning And Student Safety. This program is being offered to schools in India by Bangalore headquartered Hydenmet Solutions, which is a Partner of Earth Networks, a world leader in weather solutions.
Earth Networks, in turn, are partnered with GLOBE, a NASA initiative – GLOBE provides a climate learning & research platform for K-12 schools across the world. 25000 schools across the world are participating in the GLOBE program.
Mr Bhaaskaran Rangarajan, Founder & Chief Strategist of Hydenmet mentioned during his speech said “We are working on rolling this program out in schools across India – currently our focus is in the NCR region, Bihar and Odisha. It’s not just about learning alone, it’s also about using technology for students’ safety and for offering necessary weather alerts to the community around the schools”. Mr S. Sriram, the Principal of the school said: “We are looking forward to getting our Science Teachers trained & certified by GLOBE as well as collaborating with other GLOBE schools across the world”.
It’s important to note that the Mann School is ranked 9th in India and highly respected in the NCR region. Hydenmet is also focused on using technology for Agri crop advisory and dangerous weather alerting using mobile applications.
The Mann School has added one more feather to its numerous ‘Eco-friendly’ measures by installing Automatic Weather Station i.e. First of its kind in Delhi–NCR.
