New Delhi : Virtual Diwali Celebration at Ramjas School RK Puram, Delhi
Students of classes 3 to 5 celebrated the first ever virtual Diwali celebration on 7th November 2020. The ceremony began with the Shloka recital followed by a song by students of Class 4.
As a part of the celebration, students of classes 3, 4 and 5 decorated diyas, made colourful rangolis and beautiful innovative torans respectively. Children spoke about the ‘Dos and Donts’ to be observed during Diwali. They stressed on safeguarding the environment by not bursting crackers to avoid air and noise pollution. They pledged to have a GREEN DIWALI. They suggested everyone to give alms to the poor and share happiness especially during the pandemic
The program continued with a dance performance and a song by class 5 students
“Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life”. To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, the primary school Council members was formed after scrutinous interviewing and selection online.
The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2020 -2021 was held. The Principal, Mrs. Rachna Pant inspired and encouraged the elected leaders to be dutiful and responsible, in her virtual address to the gathering of parents, staff and students of the primary school.
The elected Council members were presented a placard by their parents bearing their post and name. Each one held it with pride and took an oath to shoulder their responsibilities with dedication during their tenure.
The Head Boy and the Head Girl thanked the Principal and pledged to take up the responsibility with sincerity and bring laurels to the school.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
