Mathematics entangled in CBSE 10th board exam

For the first time, the basic and standard two tests of Mathematics were conducted in the 10th board examination, but the mathematics paper confused the students. While standard students described their subject as difficult, Basic students had a mixed reaction.

This year, for the first time, CBSE gave the option of two types of Mathematics Paper Basic and Standard. Vineet, a student who went to take the exam at the Government Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Anand Vihar examination centre, said that the questions in the Math Standard paper were difficult and long. The standard paper did not have direct questions from the NCERT book. There were four Sections in the Mathematics board exam. About ten per cent of all the questions of students were difficult and long. He said that it took more time to understand the questions and also more time for calculating them. Lina, a mathematics teacher at Mount Abu Public School, Rohini, said that the students’ preparedness was good, but the students had some problems in the basic question paper.
