CBSE Board 2020: Class XII Physics paper was balanced and moderate
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the class XII Physics board exam today.
The question paper was balanced and moderate, said Mahesh Vashistha, Physics teacher, Blue Bells Public School, Gurugram, adding that the level of the paper was neither too easy nor too tough.
“While it will not be easy for students to score full marks, failing in the exam is also not expected as questions of around 20-30 marks were directly from the NCERT book. The remaining questions in the paper were based on conceptual knowledge from NCERT. Nothing was asked out of the prescribed syllabus,” he said.
“While there was a little problem with the MCQs, the question paper, on whole, was fine. Most of the students had finished the paper well on time as it was not lengthy. The question paper had comparatively number of numeric questions this time which does not require much time,” he said.
The paper was better than the question papers of the previous exams as it was to the point and more student-friendly, he added.
The question paper comprised of 37 questions and was divided into four sections A, B, C and D. Section A had 20 questions of one mark each, Section B had seven questions of two marks each, Section C seven questions of three marks each and Section D had three questions of five marks each.
The paper offered an internal choice in two questions of one mark each, two questions of two marks each and one question of three marks each and three questions of five marks.
A total of 18, 89,878 candidates in Class X and 12, 06,893 in class XII will appear or boards this year. As many as 19 and 6 transgender students will appear for Class X and Class XII boards, respectively.
