“Concerns Rise Over Unfilled Seats for EWS in Delhi’s Private Schools”
New Delhi: Data from the directorate of education (DOE) shows that , there were 35,186 seats set aside for economically weaker sections/disadvantaged category (EWS/DG) in Delhi’s private schools for the 2023-24 academic session. Unfortunately, only 28,000 of these seats have been filled, leaving around 7,186 seats empty. This is fewer than last year, and there are efforts to fill these vacant seats. Private schools are concerned about this decrease, and an NGO has called for an investigation into why seats go unfilled each year.
