Haryana: Schools In Several Districts To Be Closed On October 30, November 2 Due To Elections

According to a tweet from the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DPR Haryana), schools in several districts in Haryana, including Bhiwani, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Mahendragarh, Nuh, Panchkula, Panipat, and Yamunanagar, will be closed on October 30 and November 2 in anticipation of the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections. Aside from schools, offices, and factories, these dates will be closed to allow employees of these institutions to cast their ballots.

Due to a byelection that will take place in Adampur from November 3 to 6, the state administration has also proclaimed public holidays in educational institutions, government offices, and corporations there. According to a notification made by the chief secretary, Sanjeev Kaushal, “Teachers, workers who are voters in the Adampur assembly constituency, would also be provided paid vacation under section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.”

Elections for the Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, and Sarpanch will take place on November 22 and 25, respectively. In a tweet, DPR Haryana stated that the results of the elections for the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti would be made public on November 27.

On October 27th, schools in Haryana were also closed in observance of Bhai Dooj.
