Pune: Impressive response to National Level Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘AI-VFX assisted E-content Development’ organised by Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune.
A two day National level Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘AI-VFX assisted E-content Development’ was organised by the Department of Library and Information Science and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with Knowledge Bridge, Ahmednagar on 04th and 05th October 2023.
The FDP commenced with the recitation of sacred verses by Dr. Ahmed Shamshad followed by a formal welcome accorded by A.Prof. Musharraf Hussain. The theme of the FDP was presented by the Director of the Knowledge Resource Centre, Dr. Muhammad Zuber who elaborated on the critical need and practice of transforming the teaching techniques using innovative technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Visual Effects (VFX).
Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh congratulated all the participants in their efforts to incorporate the latest innovative tools and motivated them to always remain upgraded. Thereafter Vice-Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh presented the guidelines emphasizing on the need from the quality point of view.
Setting up of a hybrid classroom in the real-world situation was demonstrated by Shri. Bhushan Kulkarni during the first technical session during which he also demonstrated effective use of popular Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to make attractive teaching plans with visual effects—internationally renowned Cinematographer Shri. Vikas Ingale emphasized on the need to incorporate visual language into teaching communications.
The post-lunch technical session was conducted by Shri. Bhushan Kulkarni dealt with various types of Lecture Capturing Systems (LCS), settings in OBS software for different studio setups, types of camera and their features, types of microphones and their features, use of Teleprompter and its benefits, lighting techniques and their needs.
The second-day technical session got underway with a demonstration of the Understanding Mini VFX studio setup. The video production practical began during the technical session, and participants recorded their lectures which were conducted live in the studio setup. Before the session ended, more than fifty videos were captured.
Vice-Principal Prof. Moinuddin Khan presented the valedictory address during which all the participants were congratulated for making the FDP a grand success. He urged them to continue creating high-quality e-content for the students and later handed over the FDP certificates to the participants. The entire proceedings of the FDP were streamed live on YouTube and watched by hundreds online. The FDP concluded with the FDP coordinator Dr. Muhammad Zuber proposing the institution’s first digital vote of thanks.
