MCD Polls: Delhi Government Schools To Remain Closed Today

NEW DELHI: In light of the preparations for the municipal elections, all Delhi government schools will be closed on December 3, the Directorate of Education announced on Friday. On December 4, voting will take place for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections.

The Directorate of Education (DoE) issued a circular that read, “All heads of government schools of Directorate of Education are hereby informed that December 3 (Saturday) is to be declared a holiday in schools due to voting preparations for Delhi MCD elections 2022.”

The statement read, “The heads of schools are directed to communicate this information to students, faculty, SMC members, and parents.”

On December 3 and December 5, all MCD schools will likewise be closed. The MCD stated in a notice that the day following election day is likewise to be recognised as “time on election duty” due to the lengthy hours of work.

The heads of all MCD schools are hereby advised to close their doors to students on December 5 due to the fact that over 90% of their staff members are currently on election duty.
